ITT Industries (NYSE: IIN) has been awarded two technical services contracts from the U.S. Air Force totaling $70 million. The contracts cover military facilities in Colorado, California, New Hampshire, the United Kingdom and Germany.
The U.S. Air Force Space Command has awarded ITT Federal Services Corporation (FSC), a unit of ITT Systems, a $57.9 million five-year contract to provide communications, operations and maintenance and other technical support to the 50th space wing organizations at three locations. Under this contract, ITT FSC will support the direct conversion of communications operations and maintenance functions for government personnel to the private sector at Schriever Air Force Base, Colorado and New Boston Air Station, New Hampshire. In addition, ITT FSC will provide for the ongoing support of communications upgrades at Onizuka Air Station, California.
ITT FSC becomes the main provider of long haul communications support to the U.S. Air Force in Europe with the win of a $12.2 million five-year contract to provide wideband communications operations and maintenance, systems control, and management of the facility control offices for the U.S. Air Force - Europe in the United Kingdom and Germany. The contract, called NORTHCOMM, combines UKCOM, on which ITT FSC is the incumbent, with the communications sites in Germany, currently being operated and maintained directly by the U.S. Air Force.
