Vectrus Systems Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Vectrus, Inc. (NYSE: VEC), recently received a 2016 Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) gold achievement award for health and safety performance. This is the second gold award for Vectrus.
RoSPA began in 1916 as a U.K. family safety charity. The organization has been at the core of accident prevention for a hundred years according to their website. The full spectrum of occupational health and safety awards have fast become some of the most sought after safety accolades by organizations from every sector. This year, RoSPA is celebrating 60 years of presenting highly-regarded and sought after accolades to businesses and organizations which have shown a commitment to accident and ill-health prevention.
“We are very pleased to accept the Gold Award for the second year in a row,” said Chris Hause, environmental, safety and health manager at Vectrus. “Our safety culture and our focus on minimizing risk for our team empowers our global workforce to make safety practices and environmental stewardship part of their daily work routine.”
The RoSPA Awards mark achievement at the merit, bronze, silver and gold levels. Competitive awards go to the best entries in 24 industry sectors, while specialist awards are presented for occupational health, environmental management and fleet safety, to name a few.
Julia Small, RoSPA’s head of awards and events, said: “To win an award at such a highly-regarded event as the RoSPA Awards is a great achievement for our winners. It recognizes their commitment to maintaining an excellent health and safety record and raises the bar for other organizations to aspire to. We offer them our congratulations.”
The Vectrus gold award was presented to Hause during the RoSPA diamond anniversary ceremony at the Hilton Glasgow Hotel in the United Kingdom recently.
