Vectrus Systems Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Vectrus, Inc. (NYSE: VEC), recently received the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) gold achievement award for individual occupational health and safety performance in 2015.
The RoSPA recognized the Vectrus headquarters-based safety operation for creating work processes and a safety culture that crosses multicultural boundaries in more than 85 locations around the world.
“The Vectrus workforce uses our Environmental, Safety and Health Management System at all levels incorporating the process and procedures into day-to-day activities with outstanding results,” said David Sealander, Vectrus director of environmental, safety, health, and security. “Our people work in some of the most austere locations in the world with an extremely diverse workforce, so maintaining a superior safety culture is a significant achievement that starts here in the Colorado Springs headquarters.”
Vectrus leaders and employees at all levels are empowered and expected to make safety practices and environmental stewardship part of their daily work routine. The ongoing Vector-to-Zero campaign - aimed at increasing the safety culture at the headquarters and at programs around the world - demands that if employees see something that is unsafe, they must take action to make it safe, and then report it.
The RoSPA began in 1916 as a U.K. family safety charity. The organization has been at the core of accident prevention for a hundred years according to their website. The full spectrum of occupational health and safety awards have fast become some of the most sought after safety accolades by organizations from every sector.
