Mission Systems Earns Prestigious ISO 20000 for IT Service Management

McLean, VA Friday, July 11, 2014

ITT Mission Systems recently obtained ISO 20000 certification, which is the world’s first international standard for IT Service Management. At the time of the audit, only about 30 companies in the United States have achieved certification. The certification focuses on best practices in IT management and evidence-based benchmarks to continuously improve delivery of IT services.

In addition to ISO 20000’s integrated process approach, the certification helps create an environment of continual improvement and learning. This is essential in a dynamic environment where IT services are provided for a global workforce of 20,000 people as well as large government contracts. Mission Systems handles data communications with spacecraft and satellites for NASA, manages extremely large and complex military networks, and provides an array of other technology services ranging from network engineering to helpdesk and cybersecurity.

Mission Systems is also Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Maturity Level (ML) 3 rated based on appraisals developed by the Carnegie Mellon University’s Software Engineering Institute (SEI).
